Friday favorites by Itty Bitty Bijou

Hi All! I hope you've had a fantastic week and feeling festive! I finally did my Christmas decorating last weekend so I am certainly in the spirit of things now! I have some beautiful things to share with you for my Friday Favorites this week - here we go...

Wedding Sparrow blog | This UK based blog is fast becoming one of my favorite wedding photography inspiration blogs! It focuses on fine art and film photography and every time I read it I cannot wait to shoot something ( for those who don't know I am also a fine art, lifestyle photographer of weddings and babies at Catharine Noble Photography ). It is run by Sara & Andy, a husband and wife team with impeccable taste and talent. They also do styling and have an online shop coming soon - I cannot wait to see it!

Paris Inspired Couple Shoot | A beautiful shoot by Orange Photographie set simply around a drink and pastries with Parisian style, and my is it pretty! Stylish, sophisticated and full of those creamy colour tones I adore. See it featured on the lovely Wedding Sparrow blog { here }.

Paris Inspiration Shoot on Style Me Pretty | This wedding shoot is phenominal and so are the vendors who took part! It was published on the beautiful Style Me Pretty blog and featured the most exquisite statement wedding dress by French Designer Paulo Corona. The gown includes an oversized bow-like ruffle to the front of the dress, and the most sheer, barely there, material to the reverse, with crystals cascading over the shoulders and down the back! It's a must see and includes Luxe Life Events, Le Secret d'Audrey, and Paris Luxury Cakes by Cristina Lasarte.

Confetti Pop | I don't know how I have not come across Confetti Pop before now - it is home to ideas and instructions for fantastic DIY projects for different celebrations and holidays. It lists details such as the estimated budget and time to make the project and even the difficulty level too. If you enjoy finding things to make on Pinterest - you will love Confetti Pop! My favorite Christmas holiday finds on here include:
Metallic Ombre Glitter Ornaments
Floral Bundt Cake
Gold Rock Candy Favours
Fringed Ornament Garland
Fringed and Faceted Drink Stirrers

I hope you've enjoyed my latest finds and favorites and feel as inspired by them as I do! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Friday Favourites by Itty Bitty & Bijou

Hi All! Can you believe it is Friday again already?! We've had a very hectic week with Joey being injured at the weekend and after four trips to the Vets this week and one operation he is now recovering and thankfully more comfortable! You can of course read more about the loves of my life, my rescue dogs Joey & Teddy over at Itty Bitty &Fluffy blog - as well as my photography! Now let's see my Friday Favourites this week!!

Anna Hardy Photography, Shannon Elizabeth Photography, The Lonely Heart,
Opulent Vivienne Westwood Inspired Wedding | This wedding was shot by one of my favourite uk wedding photographers - Anna Hardy and it was featured this week on the fabulous Rock 'n' Roll Bride. The Bride, Sashy, wore the famous Carrie Bradshaw / Vivenne Westwood wedding dress and her style is amazing! Sashy actually makes it look even better too!

Shabby chic Wedding Favours | I love these mercury glass heart decorations, adorned with a pretty, personalised ribbon, by The Lonely Heart, a beautiful Etsy shop full of goodies. They are listed as wedding favours but I think these would make a great little gift for many occasions and of course they'd be so cute at Christmas too!

Gatsby Themed Fall Inspiration Shoot | This wedding shoot on Green Wedding Shoes is full of warm Autumnal colours and details! Shot and styled by the super talented Shannon Elizabeth, who created a stunning tablescape with deep red flowers, gold glass votives and a sparkly runner ( you I know I love a hint of sparkle! ) There's an amazing headpiece and also those deep berry lip colours I keep talking about too { here }.

Hope you enjoyed the short but sweet round up this week and I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Festive Inspirations - Plum & Cranberry Christmas

Here is a beautiful inspiration board for the holiday season with a colour palette of deep plum, cranberry and winter white. Inspired by Autumn Winter makeup trends which include these deep, rich, berry colours for lips and nails ( you may have seen this mentioned in my Friday Favourites here ).

Christmas party ideas inspiration board
> Food is always important to me around the holiday period as there are plenty of delicious dishes we only seem to eat at this time of year. I looked for food that said 'Christmas' as well as scrumptious!
> Cranberry filled Macarons, Cranberry Cookies, Winter Berry Pie and the stunning Cranberry topped Christmas Cake are all beautiful treats.
> Mulled wine is a must over the holidays and this recipe for the mulled wine poached pears I found at Fork and Flower sounds amazing!
> Adding berries for decoration is a must as well as a hint of Fir tree. The elegant ribbon & cone decoration is simple to diy and a sophisticated touch too!

Friday Favourites by Itty Bitty & Bijou

Hi All! Welcome to my second Friday Favourites and round up of the week! With Christmas getting closer and closer I'm feeling super festive - I cannot wait to decorate our house and spend time with family! I've been thinking about festive party ideas and shall be sharing inspirations and ideas of this nature soon too. For now, here are my favourite things from this week...

Style Me Pretty, Gooch and Gawler, Boudoir Photography Session,
A UK inspiration shoot on Style Me Pretty | I was so pleased to see vendors from the UK featured on my all time favourite wedding blog, Style Me Pretty! The shoot is a must see, with a soft palette of pastel greens, greys, and little hints of aubergine. Put together by Jessie Thompson Wedding Planning, shot by Taylor Barnes Photography, and fantastic florals by The Rose Shed - the shoot has lots of beautiful details to inspire you - the tablescape is particularly pretty!

What Lies Beneath | A stunning boudoir inspiration shoot on Rock My Wedding shot by the fabulous Fiona Kelly and styled by my friend with flawless taste, Louise Beukes of b.loved. The shoot has a dreamy creamy palette, fresh flowers and foliage as delicate as the 'delicates' - which are perfect pieces for a sophisticated Boudoir Photography Sessions too.

The Raven of Nonsuch | This beautiful shoot by Gooch and Gawler was published in October but is still inspiring me everyday! The use of feather capes within the Bridal look reminds me in part of Swan Lake. It is so artistic and put together with such imagination and attention to detail. It is unlike anything I have seen before and if you haven't already seen it, you must!

The beautiful Autumnal colours which are trending in makeup have really caught my eye this week. Those deep berry, plum and mauve tones for lips and nails are just delicious and you'll soon see that that these colour tones have indeed been inspiring my work lately!

I hope you enjoyed my Friday Favourites and have yourselves a super weekend!

Stationery & Free Printable for The Autumn Issue of Bloved's Style Guide

Itty Bitty & Bijou was recently featured on the beautiful b.loved blog as part of a big b.team inspiration shoot! Louise of b.loved gathered her b.team of wedding vendors to create a stunning shoot based on her concept for Autumn weddings and with this she produced b.loved's latest feature - The Style Guide starting with The Autumn Issue!

With a colour palette of black, white and warm metallics we created a wedding stationery suite with a monochrome look, pairing modern calligraphy with contemporary sans serif fonts, and there was even a glittery gold envelope liner - pretty! There is a free printable available to download too { here } so pop on over to bloved to see the full Autumn Issue...

Friday Favorites by Itty Bitty & Bijou

Hello All! Hope you have had a super week and enjoyed the 'You've Got Mail' Bridal Inspiration post - the first in a while but lots more to come! I originally started Itty Bitty & Bijou the blog to share all the wonderful things I come across each week as well as our own projects, loves, free printables and inspirations. I thought it would be good to post a small round up each week incase you don't follow us on Facebook and Twitter. So here we go...

Burnetts boards, Elizabeth Anne Designs, Cloth and Patina, Corinne Smith
Black is Beautiful | This wedding inspiration shoot on The Pretty Blog was captured by Catherine Mac and Styled by Fleur le Cordeur. They showed how the black wedding gown can be more decadent and less gothic - it is stunning!

Elizabeth Anne Designs new online shop | As a huge fan of Elizabeth Anne Designs inspirations and flawless taste, I was so excited to hear that she was curating pieces to launch an online shop. It is a must see for any Bride-to-be and the shoe collection in particular is beyond beautiful!

Joy by Corrine Smith | Corrine Smith is one of my favorite British designers when it comes to Bridal accessories and has just launched a new sister company 'Joy'. Lots of pretty pieces ideal for Christmas, Bridesmaids gifts etc. It's hard to pick just one favorite but the Lovebirds necklace won it for me!

Cloth & Petina's Vintage Terrarium Box | Cloth & Petina's Etsy shop is always filled with an exquisite collection of vintage pieces which would make beautiful gifts and also make stunning pieces for weddings too. The terrarium box would make a perfect ring box for a wedding and how stunning the ring photos would look with it too! Lovingly restored with a french script fabric added to it - so pretty!

The Most Beautiful Blush Pink Wedding Inspiration | Sara of Burnetts Boards has superb taste and an incredible eye - especially when it comes to her inspiration boards! Her latest creation is the 'Romantic Pastel Blush Wedding' board complete with an amazing Reem Acra gown! Amazing!

Hope you enjoyed the round up and have a lovely weekend! x

Bridal Shower Inspirations - You've Got Mail...

We've not done a Bridal Shower Inspiration Board for a while and I recently watched one of my all time favorite romantic movies - You've Got Mail, with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. It's such a heartwarming movie and I love the New York setting! It inspired me to create this latest inspiration board with cute little details from the film. Daises are Kathleen's favorite flower and Pride & Prejudice is also her favorite book, these can both be used as pretty centrepieces...

It was the b.loved wedding's big event this week - the highly anticipated b.party! Put together by Louise of b.loved blog and her fantastic team of suppliers - the b.team, which includes Itty Bitty & Bijou as the Stationery & Graphics designers.

We created a suite of the following pieces - inspired by Louises' ideas for the event, her signature b.loved branding circles and a colour palette she sent too:

> Invitation
> Promo for makeovers before the event
> Cocktail Menu
> Dessert Menu
> Cananpe Menu

Fantastic wedding photographer and fellow b.team member Anneli Marinovich, was on hand to capture details from the evening and as soon as she blogs them we'll provide a link so you can see all the wonderful work by Louise and all involved. Colour Inspirations - Temperley SS 2013

Today's colour inspiration originates from this beautiful outfit from Temperley's Spring / Summer 2013 collection. The tones of blue against nude beige, creates a sophisticated palette great for Spring and Summer events. We actually have a stationery design for an event at the end of August which has been inspired by these colours! I must also add how decadent and detailed this outfit is - inspiring patterns as well as colours!

Beautiful Book - Red Velvet & Chocolate Heartache by Harry Eastwood

As a Graphic Designer and Photographer I fall in love with beautiful books containing both of these elements. It doesn't even have to be a book that I will read several times from cover-to-cover but more that they will become part of my coveted collection of beautiful books which adorn my home, and I enjoy flicking through those pretty pages at leisure!

Today I am sharing a lovely cookery book called 'Red Velvet & Chocolate Heartache' written by Harry Eastwood. Firstly, it is simply adorable - from the title to the recipes and of course the photos. There is a theme with the food styling throughout the book which plays on quaint vintage pieces and doll's houses! Cupcakes sit upon minature sized garden furniture and within the doll's house itself { you can see an example of which below }...

Rosewater Fairy Cakes, Lemon & Lavender Drizzle Cake and Autumn Apple & Cider Cake are just a few of the delicious recipes this book has to offer and Harry Eastwood aims to provide healthier ways of cooking too.

Hope you have enjoyed today's inspiration and photography! If you are interested in learning more about Harry Eastwood, her work and other books, pop on over to harryeastwood.com

Branding & Graphic Design Tips - Pinning

Pinterest is a fantastic way of both sharing your work and favorite finds and it's also a great way to find inspiration. For our own work and our client base ( operating in the wedding & events industry ) it has become essential to check out the latest on Pinterest.

Many of us come across wonderful things we must repin, but what if these finds had never been pinned in the first place? We can't just rely on others to inspire us, we need to add interesting content ourselves to continue this wonderful global community of interesting ideas and stunning images!

In order to do this we should keep up to date with our favorite reads, websites and blogs, pinning as you go - instead of checking your Pinterest feed and clicking through to the odd content or 'saving it for later'. I have been guilty of this and I found that I missed the enjoyment of my favorite reads!

What's this got to do with business? Well here are a few points to consider:
  • If you don't add your work to Pinterest who will?
  • Pinterest sends a lot of traffic to your website & blog - if you have interesting pins/content you will gain more followers and a bigger audience.
  • Sharing inspirations with people with similar style & tastes builds good contacts.
  • Keeping your own creativity is good for your workflow as a creative.

Today I declare that I will make more time to keep up-to-date with my favorite reads, blogs and websites and make more of an effort to pin directly from them for my Pinterest followers to see and share too. You can see them { here }

Wedding Inspirations - Floral Crowns

Floral crowns are becoming a huge trend for weddings - worn by Brides, Bridesmaids and flowers girls either as a statement piece or something more delicate. Reminiscent of the 1970's and also Boho looks, and Claire Pettibone's wedding dress collections' saw models wearing floral crowns - what better influence?! We love floral crowns - they seem to evoke a beautiful, whimsical vibe with a vintage edge. We have put together some inspirations for both looks - a more statement piece with larger blooms and then smaller, more intricate crowns as both jewellery or real flowers - take your 'pick'...

Branding & Graphic Design Tips - Good Design Vs Bad Design

To the left is a design by ourselves and it was part of one of our design concepts and mood boards. Opposite is an example of the dreaded DIY design. If all our mood boards looked like this we wouldn't have any readers, fans or clients! We wouldn't inspire anyone and we definitely would not sell ourselves.

Ask yourself -
Which would attract you more? { Will your company lose out to competitors with better design }
Which would you rather read? { Can you attract more clients with better design }
Which would you trust more? { Will a client hire you if your look unprofessional }
Which would you hire? { Will you lose clients because your brand looks messy }

Professional design and photography can sell you, your company and brand. Unprofessional design can do the opposite, damaging your brand and lose you sales. Here we showed drastic differences between DIY design and hiring a Graphic Designer. It is the same wording but look at the sheer difference that can be achieved by using a professional designer and professional images!

The lesson today is to never underestimate the value of great graphic design!

Branding & Graphic Design Tips - Dress Your Brand

We loved that Kat Williams of the renowned Rock n Roll Bride blog writes about the importance of your brand image as part of The Green Room section of her blog. It is definitely worth a read! Whether your brand is a your blog, you are a wedding photographer, event designer or own a boutique - you need your brand image to attract clients and also keep them. We will be discussing essential tips for branding and graphic design over the next few months here on Itty Bitty & Bijou.

We, like Kat, recommend hiring a Graphic Designer to complete any design work you need for your company. Graphic Designers of course know how to create a stunning brand image for yourself using images and fantastic fonts which will look beautiful, attractive and professional. As much fun as it may
be to play with it yourself, you are missing out on the value that a Graphic Designer will bring to your company.

You would dress your best when meeting your clients wouldn't you? Do the same for your brand.

For information & a price list of our own Graphic Design & Branding services email us at ittybittybijou{at}googlemail{dot}com

You will soon be able to find a selection of our Graphic Design
& Branding items and services available within our Etsy shop too!
